Our Story
In its eight decades of activity, Reuth set a high standard for the treatment, rehabilitation, and housing it provides. We believe that to deliver the highest quality of care, we must recognize that each individual has a unique personal story and contains a whole world within them.
The association’s activities began in 1937 by a group of pioneering women under the leadership of the late Paula Brett. Its operations began by helping immigrants and refugees find work, providing hot meals to the poor, operating kindergartens so that parents could work, and establishing community housing for refugees. Even before the establishment of the State of Israel, Reuth was a prominent organization in the field of relief – providing support to Holocaust survivors and disadvantaged populations. The association’s approach, which took shape in its first years of activity and dictates our actions to this day, puts the individual at the center of activity, taking into account their specific needs, preferences, and abilities.
In 1961, the association established the Reuth Tel Aviv Rehabilitation Hospital. Today, it is Israel’s largest rehabilitation and geriatric hospital, providing physical, mental, and social rehabilitation to thousands of patients from all over the country every year. Its uncompromising commitment to technological innovation and professional advancement made the hospital a leader in its field.
Reuth also manages and operates three senior homes in Tel Aviv and Jerusalem as well as subsidized community housing for disadvantaged older adults in Tel Aviv. By doing so, the association plays a vital role in addressing the challenges posed by the aging of the Israeli population. At our senior homes and community housing, we strive to address all of our residents’ needs and foster a vibrant community in which they feel a sense of meaning and belonging.
The Spirit of Reuth is our guiding principle. It encompasses the values of compassion, optimism, striving for excellence, and the betterment of society.
Our Values
The values of Reuth encompass humanity, faith, devotion, empathy, dedication, excellence, and ambition. In all areas of activity – from the rehabilitation hospital to the senior homes, community housing, senior day center, and rehabilitation clinics – we strive to live up to these values.
First and foremost, the Reuth Association deals with people, not cases. Our patients, visitors to the senior day center, and elderly residents are at the center of the story. Having a genuine desire to get to know them, see them, bring them a smile, and improve their quality of life is an integral part of our team’s work.
In addition to our personalized approach to care, we also strive for technological and academic excellence. Our medical and paramedical teams provide cutting-edge care and serve as an example for many institutions in Israel and around the world. Our vast experience in rehabilitation and geriatrics allows us to be partners in technological development that further advance these medical fields.
There are no lost causes or dead ends at Reuth. Our dedicated staff and experience of placing individuals at the center are the key to our perseverance, determination, and ultimately, success!
