Avraham Lebowitz
Patient of Reuth Tel AvivAvraham Lebowitz, 93, is a Holocaust survivor, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He was hospitalized in the geriatric rehabilitation department at Reuth after fracturing his femoral neck. As a teenager, Avraham survived Auschwitz, Bergen-Belsen, and Buchenwald. It was his great love of music that helped him survive and not lose hope. After the war, he enrolled in music studies in Ukraine and after immigrating to Israel, taught cello at Israeli conservatories.
In preparation for Holocaust Remembrance Day and in the midst of Avraham’s rehabilitation, singer Ruhama Raz came to Reuth to meet Avraham and fulfill his dream of singing together. The two performed Ruhama’s hit song “Halomot”.
